Everyone on the Moon is Essential Personnel

By Julian K. Jarobe

An anthology of short SF stories, so I'll give a short opinion of each, and a more general review of the book as a whole below.

Each story

The Mark of Aegis

"The first nice thing I ever did to my body was tear it open."

Only two pages long, I think it was a great introductory story. In first person, the character explores where the self meets the world. Doesn't quite meet the anger of later stories, but establishes a strong foundation of what this book has to say and how it wants to say it.

Here You Are, Near Me

"How many photographs existed of her in the album of strangers?"

What a kind title for a story taking a brief glance at the panopticon we all find ourselves in these days. This one takes sort of a glancing blow at the central themes of the book as a whole.

Self-Care

"'Machine didn't take my rig. They don't take nothing from nobody. They do what they're set in motion to do.'"
